Regionals and WVC

Regionals

18-1
During this year there has been some rough patches, but this weekend at regionals we learned and played as one. We accomplished our goal of being consistent and going for every ball. We were the most competitive then I’ve ever seen. As a senior, having this weekend be my last regionals ever, I have really enjoyed and appreciated everyone’s willingness to have fun and enjoy our last moments playing as a team. Overall a great season.

18-2
This past weekend really showed our improvement over the past few months. And although we did not achieve as much as we had hoped, we played with energy and focus, and had a lot of good plays throughout those two days. Our defense was very solid, and we had a lot of great blocks! In the beginning of the season we didn’t have much energy and didn’t work together as well as we could, and I think that this weekend we really showed how much we have improved. I am very proud of the effort everyone gave, and am excited for this weekend!

Willamette Valley Classic

The WVC tournament was different from others. We switched up our teams, tried new positions, and plays. Our team didn’t really change since regular season. As a new team our chemistry was there and it was easy for us to click and get into our groove. Overall, it was a great weekend and it was probably our best and most consistent. we were able to keep our mistakes at a minimum and play good fundamentally sound volleyball. I think our biggest achievement this weekend was not letting my injury effect our play. Although it was pretty shaky with one of the main hitters being out and our bench consisting of mostly DS’s, the girls pushed through the adversity and we came out third in the tournament. I wouldn’t trade these girls for the world and I am glad to have had them as my teammates.

This weekend in Corvallis was a great opportunity for us to play on different teams and get closer with girls we hadn’t played with as much over the season. There were a lot of ups and downs over the weekend, but it was amazing to see how well we can do if we play together and have energy. Overall, it was a fun end to the season. I’m so proud of what we’ve accomplished this season and I’m looking forward to another great season next year with these girls.
